2007 GODIVA AWARDS WINNERS REVEALED

Coventry and Warwickshire’s prestigious Godiva Award winners have been announced this evening at a glittering ceremony at the Belgrade Theatre.

The Awards which recognise Coventry and Warwickshire’s  lifestyle, tourism and leisure industry have been developed by CV One in association with Coventry Telegraph, Heart FM, Coventry University, Parenthesis, Advantage West Midlands, Oakmoor Estates, Belgrade Plaza, Belgrade Theatre, Best Bar None, Message Partners, CAAG, Make Your Mark, The Isle, Event UK, Brandon Estates, Deeley Properties, The City of Coventry Ambassadors Group, Coventry Best for Business and this year’s title sponsor Thomsonfly.com

The awards are divided into three categories: 

• Lifestyle Awards in association with Coventry Telegraph- open to businesses in the entertainment and arts sector which have been nominated and voted for by the public.  

• Business Awards in association with Coventry University - judged by an independent judging panel advised by industry experts.

• The Ambassadors Award - for a single individual who has made an outstanding contribution to Coventry and Warwickshire, nominated and voted by members of the City of Coventry Ambassadors Group, UK.

Winners of the awards received a specially commissioned bronze statuette designed by Coventry sculptor George Wagstaffe.

Best Restaurant: Turmeric Gold, Coventry
Best Shop:  Astley Book Farm, near Bedworth
Best Theatre: The Criterion Theatre, Earlsdon Coventry
Best Visitor Attraction:  Compton Verney, Warwickshire

Business Award Winners

Best New Venture: Coventry Runner, Coundon, Coventry
Best Guest House: Bubbenhall House
Best Customer Service: Hair Management at the Club, Warwick, Coventry
Best Access: BBC Coventry and Warwickshire Open Centre, Coventry
Best Business: Cassidy Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey Club, Coventry
Best Conference Venue: The Woodland Grange Hotel and Conference Centre, Leamington Spa


Best Bar None Award

Overall Winner: Escape Bar, Coventry


Ambassadors Award

Dave Long Manager of the Coventry Ambassadors Group will be presenting the award to this years winner Coventry Transport Museum and Chairman of Coventry City Football Club, Joe Elliott
